It's colored blue so you can easily check that you have the right wire for the job, and the polypropylene shielding ensures it's easy to secure and reduces the risk of electrical leakage. The self-stripping connector takes mere moments to add to a line. As the brass connectors bite into the wire, they create a solid connection between the 2 wires, and tin plating means that the surface resists corrosion. As well as being useful in industrial settings, the connectors are great for a variety of automotive and marine environments as well as in buildings and for signage. Because it's flame retardant and suitable for use in temperatures up to 221 degrees F (105 degrees C), it resists thermal shock, and it's also UL Listed, CSA Certified and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
