Today, it remains the foundation of Kirby Risk’s Mechanical Solutions and Service division that provides electric motors, repair, preventative and predictive maintenance services and power transmission products to our customers.
As a member of Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) since 1938 and EASA Accredited since 2017, our capabilities include Dynamic Balancing, AC and DC motor disassembly and reassembly, motor rewinding, pump repair, gearbox repair, machining and custom assembly.
At Kirby Risk, our family of businesses (Mechanical Solutions and Service, Service Center, Precision Machining, Electrical Supply and ARCO) work together synergistically to provide customers with effective and efficient products, solutions and services that best meet their needs.
Operating within the existing network and infrastructure provided through the Electrical Supply business, Mechanical Solutions and Service can work across branch supply locations in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Each location and its surrounding territories are supported by a team of local Account Managers and assisted by Mechanical Solutions and Service Sales Specialists and Consultants.
The Kirby Risk Distribution Center is included in this supporting network. They offer a fleet of trucks and experienced drivers that enable them to make nightly deliveries to all Electrical Supply locations. Customers receive products the next day and, in some cases, the same day for emergencies.
“Most motor repair shops are limited to a service area of 50 100 miles from a shop location,” says Marty Guy, Operations Manager at Mechanical Solutions and Service in Lafayette, Indiana. “However, at Kirby Risk, one of our larger customers is located over four hours away (200+ miles) in southern Illinois.” The ability to service our customers both near and far is the result of a supporting network that includes the Distribution Center, Electrical Supply Account Managers and Mechanical Solutions and Service Specialists.
DIGITAL GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND
“Job Trac is our in-house custom software designed to provide customers with a complete view of their job status from start to finish. This software helps us further service our customers’ needs beyond a physical distance,” says Guy.
When first developed in 1989, the software offered better visibility and management of a customer’s job status and progress. With an upgrade in 2004, additional capabilities were added including digital photos, descriptions and copies of predictive service reports. In 2009, a Customer Portal was launched giving customers the ability to see their job status, photos, descriptions and progress in real-time.
Today, Job Trac software remains an important digital management tool and helps the Mechanical Solutions and Service team, along with their customers, gain insight and visibility into the status and progress of a job anytime day or night.
For more than 96 years, Kirby Risk customers have relied on our expert technicians to deliver quality electric motor and mechanical repairs with prompt and timely service.
As an authorized repair center for most major electric motor brands, Kirby Risk Mechanical Solutions and Service can save customers both time and money.
